Fairs, visitors from the Far East return
Positive results for the trade fairs dedicated to fashion and accessories which have animated Fieramilano (Rho) in recent days: perceptible signs of interest, even if the geopolitical framework continues to maintain palpable critical issues which are also reflected in the economic data.
"Micam Milano, Mipel, The One Milano and Home Fashion&Jewels Exhibition were visited by 42,273 professional operators (+21% on the September 2022 edition) from 129 countries – explains a note -. Above all, the shows intercepted the strong dynamism of foreign buyers, demonstrating the importance of exports for consolidating the recovery of the sectors represented."
From the final data released, a return of buyers emerges, in particular those - highly anticipated - from the Far East. «The trend of visitors from Spain, France and Germany was excellent – continues the note -, while on the non-EU front we note the return of China and confirmations from Japan, from North America with Canada and the USA». There are 2000 brands, including footwear and accessories, that have presented their collections for the next season. The lowest common denominator? High commitment to research and innovation, quality and a strong propensity for sustainability. Once again, young people are the great protagonists: creativity, talent, research into materials and production technologies, but also attention to the changing world of fashion, characterized the creations of the new designers.
There was no shortage of opportunities to meet and discuss the hot topics for the sector, from sustainability to artificial intelligence, from new production techniques to the future of retail. Confindustria Fermo placed particular emphasis on sustainability during a moment of discussion organized on the topic at Micam. «Each company has included sustainable products in its collections – said Valentino Fenni, president of the Fermo footwear manufacturers -. A necessary path, the world is one and must be preserved. Sustainability is a social commitment, not just a production one. However, sustainability is also a cost that companies are not always able to bear. Here politics must intervene with targeted actions. We can work on soles and glues, but we need more."
