Sustainable Leather Forum: the event dedicated to CSR in the leather industry in Paris

 

 

 

An international event dedicated to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in the leather sector. The fifth edition of the Sustainable Leather Forum, the leading event for sustainable development organized by the Conseil National du Cuir, with the patronage of the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Economic Recovery, will be held on 11th September at the Palais Brongniart in Paris . The event brings together over 450 professionals and experts from the fashion, luxury and design sectors every year to discuss the main social, environmental and economic challenges facing the entire leather sector.


The event, which can also be followed in streaming, will welcome the world's leading specialists who will discuss current issues. Again this year, the Sustainable Leather Forum will welcome 18 speakers who will lead four conferences. The first will focus on how certification standards can help improve traceability and processes in the leather industry. The second will address the theme "Farming and raw materials: the leather industry is reducing its carbon footprint through good practices and innovative tools".
The third session will focus on the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sector, a pioneer of Corporate Social Responsibility as one of the first to introduce stringent regulations on the manufacturing and composition of various products. Finally, the theme of the care and repair of shoes, gloves and leather goods, a key element in the implementation of circular and responsible fashion, with a round table that will bring together different brands and organizations to discuss the main challenges that the circular economy presents in their activity.


Also scheduled are four exclusive keynotes by Elisabeth Laville, chief entrepreneur of Utopies; Paul Luu, executive secretary of 4p1000; Nienke Steen, Apparel, Textiles and Footwear Leader at Cradle to Cradle Certified®; Héléne Jessu, Director of Sustainable Development, and Hélène Billard, Accessories Director, of Zadig & Voltaire; Stéphane Piot, CSR consultant at Pando Fashion. Among the main novelties of this year, the presence of a new exhibition area to support companies with traceability solutions, labelling, training, research and development, innovations in the chemical sector and much more.
