There is great anticipation among exhibitors and buyers for the Futurmoda fair, organized by the Spanish Footwear Components Association (AEC), to be held March 8-9, 2023, in Alicante, Spain, at the IFA in Elche (a well-known Iberian footwear district). Strengthened by an exhibition area of about 12,000 square meters, the forty-ninth edition already promises to be full of interesting new features: showcasing about three hundred exhibitors with the best in leathers, synthetics, chemicals and components related to the world of footwear fashion. Of particular appeal in this edition is the return of the machinery section, which had already found praise from industry professionals in previous editions. Among the reconfirmed special areas that will not fail to attract the favor of visitors is "Futurmoda Green Planet," a specialized trend area that presents supply chain innovations related to all-round sustainability, with leathers, fabrics, natural, ecological and biodegradable materials and components, upcycled materials, products and processes that save energy or natural resources, and so on.
The Spanish fair, which historically has always offered a broad overview of the latest innovations in the leather and footwear fashion industry, was relaunched in 2022 after two years of forced slowdown due to the health emergency. Thanks to the relentless work of the organizers, along with a varied product offering and a busy program of interesting talks and events held during the two-day fair, the event is considered to be one of the most influential on the European scene.
