A founding member of the Genuine Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium since 1994, the Montana company specializes in the production of shoulders and double butts for use in luxury leather goods.

«Our production process is LWG Silver certified, having obtained its renewal in November, and also ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which we reconfirmed in July. We have also obtained UNIC and ICEC certifications for ethical and social sustainability - says Montana partner Marta Ghizzani - Every time we obtain a renewal, the parameters and protocols become more and more stringent, so we make all the necessary changes to conform to the required standards. We never stand still». 

The Montana company also adheres to the international ZDHC protocol and guarantees the absence of heavy metals and toxic substances such as azo dyes, nickel, bisphenol, and chromium VI in its tanning processes.

The pursuit of excellence is at the heart of the Montana company’s activities, as is its attention to environmental issues. The study done on the company’s vegetable tanned leathers shows that they contain more than a 95 percent BIO BASED component.
