Fondamentale per il settore pelle rimane l’apporto della tecnologia come tramite dell’innovazione di prodotto. È così, ad esempio, per la Conceria Nuova Impala, come spiega Matteo Vannucci, socio e commerciale dell’azienda: «Con l’ausilio delle più moderne tecnologie produttive misto al “saper fare” dei nostri tecnici abbiamo ottenuto il nuovo prodotto King, un pellame dall’alta e costante qualità, dal tatto setoso, il fiore liscio ed uniforme su tutta la superficie della pelle e dalle alte performance tecniche. Un pellame garanzia di costanza qualitativa su prodotto finito anche col passare degli anni, ma soprattutto garanzia di efficienza e lavorabilità che offre un ottimo binomio qualità prezzo». Antiche tradizioni dalle nuove concezioni: è questo il mood che ha guidato il nuovo progetto di David Leather Expression, una linea dedicata ad articoli caduti in disuso ripensati in chiave sostenibile. Come spiega il titolare dell’azienda, Paolo Quirici, si tratta di pellami come bufalino lissato, palmellato e bottalato, vacchette delle Indie: articoli per pelletteria, calzatura e abbigliamento che hanno fatto la storia non solo del tessuto conciario santacrocese ma della pelle italiana, progressivamente abbandonati nel tempo. Oggi David Leather ne propone una versione evoluta, ottenuta seguendo un processo di concia ecologico e metal free, attento quindi all’utilizzo di materiali non inquinanti, ma capace di rendere le pelli idonee ai requisiti tecnici che richiede il mercato attuale. Un processo di concia improntato sulla ecosostenibilità è quello di Ecotan, progetto messo a punto da Silva Team, storica azienda chimica piemontese. Vi partecipano, come partner, una trentina di aziende, tra cui la toscana Hashtag, come spiega il titolare Lucio Verbeni: «Le concerie – sottolinea – vi hanno preso parte con i loro prodotti: nel caso di Hashtag croste scamosciate, che vengono sottoposte a una goods and footwear that will be officially unveiled in July at the Material fair in Scandicci. Ancient traditions from new concepts: this is the mood that guided David Leather Expression's new project, a line dedicated to items that have fallen into disuse rethought in a sustainable way. As the company's owner, Paolo Quirici, explains, these are leathers such as buffalo lissato, palmellato and bottalato, and cowhide from the Indies: items for leather goods, footwear and clothing that have made the history not only of Santa Croce tanning fabric but of Italian leather, progressively abandoned over time. Today David Leather proposes an evolved version, obtained by following an ecological and metal-free tanning process, careful therefore to use non-polluting materials, but capable of making the leathers suitable for the technical requirements of today's market. A tanning process marked by eco-sustainability is that of Ecotan, a project developed by Silva Team, a historic Piedmontese chemical company.
