Il tessuto diventa arte nella nuova capsule di Loewe

Can a work of art be transformed into something useful and everyday without losing its essence? The answer lies in Loewe's collaboration with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation, which transposes the artists' works into clothing and accessories that fully reflect the use of color, technical experimentation, and vision of the originals.

 

The collection is inspired by the work of these two pioneers of modernism, who transformed the way we perceive colors and the process that gives rise to a work of art. The maison's iconic bags, such as the Madrid, Flamenco, Puzzle, and Arizona, have been reworked using color-blocked leather inspired by the Homage to the Square series, or hand-woven cotton using the same traditional techniques that characterize the fabric works. The same techniques have been used for clothing and shoes.

 

The collection contributes to the support of Les Foyers de Tambacounda in Senegal, a center that houses 144 young women from nearby villages, offering them shelter and a place where they can continue their education beyond elementary school. The school is run by the non-profit Le Korsa, in partnership with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation.
