The core values of Brazilian Leather

 

 

These days Leather&Luxury, together with Brazilian Leather, is visiting "Inspiramais", a major industry fair in Porto Alegre. 180 exhibitors from all over Brazil are offering solutions in the areas of shoe soles, accessories, fabrics, laminates and leathers for the fashion and furniture industries, among others.


Creativity, research and sustainability are the key words that best describe the Brazilian leather industry, according to the Center for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB). With an annual production of more than forty million hides, the country has the largest commercial cattle herd in the world and is one of the five largest leather producers on the planet. Each year, more than eighty nations purchase leather produced in Brazil.

 

According to the CICB, the industry's dedication and efforts to produce quality leather and excellence are other major factors that build Brazil's reputation in this segment. Initiatives such as the Brazilian Leather Sustainability Certification (CSCB), the Design na Pele and Leather Preview projects (for design aggregation), and annual participation in more than ten major world leather fairs are examples of the Brazilian industry's ability to surprise the market by offering increasingly innovative and sustainable products each year. This work is strongly supported by the Brazilian Leather project, a partnership between the l CICB and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) to promote leather exports.
