Fashion in the Metaverse


After the announcement of the educational partnership with Microsoft Garage in New York, Polimoda launches the short course "Fashion for Metaverse" in collaboration with MONOGRID, a creative digital agency elected Agency of the year by the Digital Design Award and named among the 100 most revolutionary digital factories by AD magazine.

A new experience, entirely digital, that connects the real world with the world of virtual interactions to offer people the opportunity to express themselves through customizable digital 3D avatars," explains Polimoda's director, Massimiliano Giornetti. "In response to the growing demand for professional profiles with an increasingly multifaceted knowledge of the fashion industry, this course will amplify the creative potential of tomorrow's designers, capable of integrating the craftsmanship of traditional fashion with hyper augmented realities. A versatile, conceptual creativity capable of connecting the Heritage of fashion with the metaverse".

The 4-week Fashion for Metaverse intensive course is aimed at advanced students and professionals with a fashion design background and will focus on training experts specialized in the design and development of digital fashion creations for metaverse and NFT.

The program will focus on the creative and strategic process in the production of virtual fashion apparel and accessories, covering subjects such as Fashion Design in the Metaverse, Digital Culture and Iconography, Design Development, Art Direction, Fashion Future and Marketing in the Metaverse. Starting from avatar clothing design, it will be possible to explore the fashion subculture that combines digital design and real garment modeling, as well as the uploading of design (physical and digital) within the blockchain.

On the one hand, the thirty-year experience of the Florentine fashion school in the field of fashion, on the other hand the experience of the young digital factory MONOGRID on the potential of virtual universes.

MONOGRID in fact is dedicated to the implementation of solutions for fashion and luxury in the field of augmented reality, 3D modeling and architectures for events and digital installations. The Florentine agency also creates digital projects on the new potential offered by virtual fashion, such as 3D masks to be worn in the metaverse, or virtual clothing lines, purchasable and wearable with digital avatars.
