Small leather goods and accessories from A to Z
He inherited his parents' experience and passion for leather goods, opening his own company, “Pelletteria Athena”.
Jonathan Corsani is now the sole director of the business, which is based in Strada in Chianti (Florence). Since 2014, the company has been developing and producing small leather goods and leather accessories for third parties.
The entire production process is carried out in-house.
«I started doing this job in the leather goods company that my parents opened in 1986 - says Jonathan, who is now 33 years old – and I have always enjoyed this work along with the fashion sector».
Pelletteria Athena has a team of 21 employees and can produce an average of 3,000 wallets per month.
«Our policy has been to try bringing the entire production process in-house, from cutting to quality control, and shipping. And we have succeeded. We also have an independent modelling department, with an in-house cutting area. We are structured to manage every stage of product processing. This means better quality and traceability - he says - We aim to optimise and control production processes, trying to eliminate time wastage and standardize every operation. This will enable us to guarantee certain delivery times and high quality of the finished product. We consider staff training to be essential - he continues - along with investing in new machinery and equipment».
"The company is Iso 9001:2015 certified and the next step will be the environmental one (14001:2015).
«We are also planning to find a new, larger location in the area», he concludes.
