Tacchificio Caponi
Production of heels and wedge heels for men's & women's footwear
Heels with an artisan soul
Tacchificio Caponi is a Tuscan company located in the heart of the famous tannery district of Ponte a Egola (PI). Founded in 1967 by Marino Caponi, the Tacchificio is now run by his son Francesco who explains: «Our story starts from afar, from inside a garage. Over the course of more than fifty years of activity, we have come a long way. Since 2005, we have been working from our own 500 m2 plant that was constructed specifically for us».
The company specializes in the production of every type of heel for men's and women’s footwear in different materials – says Mr. Caponi. «What counts in cowhide or leather split heels is the pressing phase that is still carried out properly. The various leather leaves of the heel that are subjected to this type of pressing are compacted, becoming a single piece as hard as cement, that make a product capable of superior resistance and workability».
The artisan essence of this process, combined with the efficiency and skill of specialized personnel make the Tacchificio Caponi one of the points of reference for the footwear industry.
