From 15 to 17 September, Simac Tanning Tech returns to Fiera Milano Rho, the international event dedicated to machinery and technologies for the tanning, leather goods and footwear industries. Organised by Assomac Servizi in collaboration with Fiera Milano and held concurrently with Lineapelle, the exhibition brings together manufacturers of machinery, accessories and components, chemical products, automation systems, prototyping, logistics, testing and wastewater treatment solutions, offering an overview of the technologies driving the evolution of the production processes across the supply chain.
The programme of talks also reflects some of the key issues currently shaping the sector: digitalisation, sustainability, training, data availability and use, and internationalisation. The agenda explores, among other topics, the use of data to track leather from wet blue to the finished product, decarbonisation, the integration of processes and data into machinery, applications of IoT, artificial intelligence, digital twins, automation and robotics, as well as the role of training in addressing the manufacturing skills gap. For the tanning sector, a further meeting organised by UNPAC and SPIN360 will focus on the collection and sharing of environmental data across the chemical and tanning supply chain.
The 2026 edition opens on 15 September with a joint ceremony with Lineapelle, organised by Assomac, UNIC and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), once again highlighting the close connection between materials, technologies and production processes.
