Legor Expands in Functional Chemistry with the Acquisition of GLOMAX

Legor Group has acquired 100% of GLOMAX, a company specialising in the development of chemical solutions for metal surface treatment. The acquisition expands the Group’s presence in functional chemistry for industry and broadens its portfolio of surface treatment solutions, complementing its expertise in jewellery and fashion with GLOMAX’s specialisation in industrial applications.

Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Bellusco, in the province of Monza and Brianza, GLOMAX develops formulations for anti-corrosion treatments, pre-treatments, and functional and decorative finishes for industries including automotive, furniture, aerospace, construction, and electronics.

The acquisition is part of Legor’s strategy to build a group of specialised companies: Legor will continue to focus on the jewellery market, Valmet on electroplating solutions for fashion, while GLOMAX will become the Group’s reference company for industrial, decorative, and functional applications.

The collaboration between the research teams of the two companies will focus on developing formulations with a lower environmental impact, optimising electroplating processes, and improving resource efficiency, also through potential partnerships with universities and research centres.
