On the occasion of the National Made in Italy Day, the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana announces “Grand Tour. Journey through the Academies of Arts and Crafts”, a documentary film that tells how the savoir-faire of Italian fashion is passed on today.

The documentary enters the academies of several Maisons across the territory, created to offer training programs in the sectors of leather goods and tailoring, where in recent years there has been a shortage of skilled labor. The activities take place directly within the production sites of the brands and are managed by the companies’ internal staff.

Taking part in the project are the Brioni School of High Tailoring, the Kiton School of High Tailoring and the Brunello Cucinelli School of High Craftsmanship, the Dolce&Gabbana Craft Workshops, the Valentino Art Workshop and the Tod’s Craft Workshop, the Fendi Institute of Excellence in Crafts and the OTB Group School of Crafts.

«The initiative was created with the aim of enhancing the role of Academies in the transmission of knowledge, in building highly qualified professionals, and in strengthening the competitiveness of Made in Italy worldwide», says Carlo Capasa, President of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. «This documentary highlights an essential component of the sector, too often overlooked».
