Louise Trotter from Bottega Veneta made her catwalk debut with a collection that immediately demonstrated how she is the right person to fill the void left by Matthieu Blazy. His Spring Summer 2026 is a masterpiece of elegance and research into materials and workmanship, which enchant and amaze. One above all, the use of fiberglass for the top and skirts that left those who saw the show live and on social media speechless.
«It almost looks like fur but moves liquid like glass», she told Vogue, explaining that it is recycled fiberglass. And it was built to move together with the body but at the same time remain structurally solid where, for example in the tops, the shoulders would be, in order to guarantee the head a recognizable shape while embracing the movement.
An approach to materials that already defines what Trotter's approach to the Italian brand will be, which does not need aesthetic revolutions - its clientele is faithful and affectionate - but to continue that technical research that has always distinguished the weaving maison.
