.Be Your Fabric returns, the contest by Leather & Luxury, Bellandi, and Polimoda

 

Change means growth and awareness, like a wardrobe that evolves over time, letting go of forgotten or now “outdated” garments to make room for new ideas. Be Your Fabric, the contest by Leather&Luxury in collaboration with Bellandi Group and Polimoda, embraces this philosophy with its third edition, which incorporates upcycling into the creative process of the project’s participants.

 

Instead of creating a piece from scratch, second-year Fashion Design students will develop the prototype of their outerwear garment starting from a selection of vintage pieces—an idea conceived to give new life to existing materials, translating the past into a modern and sustainable language. Over the six-month project journey, five finalists will be selected, who will also have the opportunity to visit the Bellandi company to personally choose the fabrics for the creation of their garment.

 

Students will also be able to make use of accessories and materials provided by the project’s partner companies: Officina 3, Italiana Accessori, Lampo, and Moro Minuterie.

 

At the end of the journey, the finalists will present their creations to a jury of experts, who will determine the winner of this edition.
