Miranda Priestley would say that flowers in spring are predictable, but what changes if it is the runways of winter collections that are in bloom? That’s what happened with the Fall Winter 2026 fashion shows, with the maisons, from Chanel and Dior to Valentino and Balenciaga.

Behind each of these craft processes lies the savoir-faire of companies specialized in decoration and the creation of complex workmanship that requires time and patience, as explained by Edoardo Filippo Marsili of Serena Cecchini Design, an artisan workshop that deals with workmanship, creations, and special applications for the world of fashion.
«When it comes to fabric flowers, we usually talk about silk, polyester, or similar materials. The petal shapes are cut with a blade, then shaped using heat and pressure, and finally assembled by sewing them together, mostly by hand».

These are creations of high artisan value also because almost all the work is done by hand by the master craftsman: «If the flower is complex, it can take up to an hour of work for each one, especially when hand embroidery with beads or sequins is added, increasing the manual work»
